This Privacy Policy explains what information Ocean Hideaways LLC ("Ocean Hideaways," "we," "us") collects when you use oceanhideaways.com, reserve a golf cart, or ask us about golf cart management for your island home, how we use it, and the choices you have. We're a small, family-owned business on the North Carolina coast — we collect only what we need to get a cart to you and keep it running.

Information we collect

We collect information in a few ways:

• Information you give us directly — your name, email address, phone number, the island and dates you're interested in, and anything you tell us in a message, whether that's over the phone, by email, or through the form on our contact page. Homeowners who ask about management services also share the address and details of the cart we'd be looking after.
• Information collected through Valet — when you book a cart, checkout is hosted and operated by Valet, our reservation and payment provider. Valet collects the information you enter there (contact details, delivery address, rental dates, and payment information for billing) on our behalf, and handles the rental agreement and waiver that go with your reservation. Valet's own privacy policy governs how it handles that data.
• Basic website data — standard technical information (like browser type and pages viewed) collected by our web host's server logs and by Google Analytics, which we use to see which pages people actually read. We don't run advertising trackers and we don't sell this data.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Take, confirm and deliver your golf cart reservation;
• Send booking confirmations, delivery and pickup details, and reminders;
• Provide golf cart management for homeowners — inspections, washings, repair coordination, transport, and guest support;
• Answer questions and provide support before, during and after a rental; and
• Keep basic business records for accounting and legal purposes.

We do not sell your information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

Text messaging (SMS) communications

With your consent, we use text messages to confirm a booking, let you know when your cart is on its way, coordinate delivery and pickup, reach you about your cart if you're a management client — and, occasionally, to share seasonal offers or account updates.

• Consent. By giving us your mobile number — whether through our contact form, over the phone, or during checkout on Valet — you agree to receive text messages from Ocean Hideaways related to your rental or service. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of renting a cart or purchasing any service.
• Message frequency varies depending on your reservation and how often we're in touch about your cart (for example, around your delivery and pickup dates).
• Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
• Opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. You'll receive one confirmation text, and we won't send any more unless you ask us to and opt back in.
• Help. Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or reach us at contact@oceanhideaways.com or (910) 209-5483.
• No sharing for marketing. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent is not shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. It's used only to deliver the service communications described above, through our messaging and reservation providers.

How we share information

We share information only with the service providers who help us run Ocean Hideaways — principally Valet, for reservations, rental agreements, invoicing and payment processing — along with our SMS/voice provider for delivering the text messages and calls described above, our web host, and Google Analytics for website measurement. We don't sell your information to anyone, and we only disclose it beyond that if the law requires it or to protect our rights and safety.

Sharing of Personal Information

Ocean Hideaways LLC will not share, sell, or disclose your personal information or mobile opt-in data to third parties without your explicit consent, except where required by law. Your information is kept confidential and used solely for the purposes you have agreed to. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with third parties. Text messaging opt-in data is not being shared with third parties.

Cookies and website data

This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to tell repeat visits apart and to count how pages are used. Our typefaces are served from our own server, not a font CDN, so loading a page doesn't hand your IP address to a third party for that. We don't set advertising or tracking cookies of our own. Valet's booking widget sets its own cookies when you open the booking window.

Data retention and security

We keep rental, service and billing records for as long as reasonably needed for business, accounting and legal purposes, and we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No online system is perfectly secure, but we don't ask for or store full payment card details ourselves — that's handled by Valet's payment processor.

Your choices

You can opt out of text messages at any time (reply STOP), ask us to stop calling or emailing you, or ask what information we have on file — just reach out using the contact details below. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across every site that uses it with Google's browser add-on.

Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults arranging a rental or homeowner services, and this site is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
